-- A delightful allegory that allows young readers to follow the water cycle step by step. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a wonderful sweet story that teaches the story of the water cycle in a way everyone can remember. Small Cloud is born as a mist from her mother Singing River and her father Big Sun. Like any child as she grows up she wants to see the world, so Big Wind lifts her over the mountain. Eventually she finds other small clouds and joins them in play, but the plants and animals are thirsty so the small clouds group together into one large cloud and give themselves as rain to the land. The animals and plants are very happy. The last drop of rain returns to Singing River and Small Cloud is born again. The illustrations are beautiful. I've used the story both in earth-based Sunday school class and in my elementary geography classes as an introduction to the water cycle. We've acted it out as a play as well.
An earth centered & spiritual tale destined to be a classic
