When thirteen-year-old Mitch finds himself at odds with everyone in his life: brother, sister, friends, teachers, and coach, he worries that the situation will never change. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I thought Slump was a great book. This book takes place in northern Michigan. It's about a boy, named Mitchall, who is smart alec and talks back to everyone including his teachers. During the end of the story, he finds out he's in a slump and he tries to get out of it by talking it out with his teachers and family. I thought this book was very funny during the beginning but then it got more serious at the end. I recommend this book to anyone who has a good sense of humor and who can stand a lot of description.

I first read the book myself and then to my two sons. We loved it. My youngest son is reading it for a third time. I think anyone can relate to the characters of the story because we've all been Mitchie or Annie, Sam or Ali at some point in our lives. It's obvious that each character is a composite of many different characters that have touched Dave Jarzyna's life. I was totally surprised and moved by the story.

THIS IS AN AMAZING BOOK!!!!! Dave Jarzyna's 'Slump' is a great book for a first time writer!! Mitchie Evers and his friends seem like real characters. And Even though throughout the book Mitchie isn't all that likable, your opinion will change at when you reach the wonderful surprise ending!! I can't wait for Jarzyna's next book!!!!!
