Slow Learners

The primary aim of all educational effort is "to help boys and girls to achieve the highest degree of individual development of which they are capable"- Sir Percy Nunn, the eminent British Educational Philosopher Education is the manifestation of the perfection of inherent feature already in man. The training by which, expression of will are brought under control and become fruitful is called education. Education continuously builds ideas and emotions, the flux of human consciousness gives the process of education its distinctive character and makes teaching and learning an ever changing process, as thoughts and feelings are built and rebuilt. The children, who do not show average achievement in their class according to their age group, although they are of normal IQ, are called Educationally Backward children. A teacher has to be aware of the needs of these children and should seek way to make the curriculum need-centered. The class-room programme should not be rigid, but should be modified according to children's biological, social and emotional needs. The needs of all children more or less may be same but methods of satisfying these needs may be different.
