Twenty-five years ago, the day after my daughter was born, I weighed 200 pounds. I died. One year later I had battled off 12 pounds but was rapidly gaining it back and knew down deep that the way things were going I would be lucky if I only ended up at 200 again. I was always hungry. Each day I would try to keep my calories low enough to lose weight and fail. I was ashamed of myself and ashamed to be seen. I was miserable and I had a young family and a budget. My husband was wonderful but it must have been hard for him to see his once pretty wife become fat and depressed. Then I met Boo Grace. She taught me to switch our everyday foods for the low calorie versions made by the same companies on the same grocery store shelves for the same prices. I bought frozen vegetables, not fresh, because they kept until I wanted to use them and they fit the budget. I took advantage of sales and very little went to waste. I stopped buying oil and shortening and reworked some favorite family recipes using the low calorie products. Suddenly I could eat normally and become slender. I didn't have to buy expensive foods for my diet and "regular" food for the rest of the family. I didn't want to make my family fat either. I tended to want to eat all evening after a tiring day so I planned my day to include large scrumptious meals in the evening with desserts and snacks like the entire box of chocolate pudding made with skim milk and bags of popcorn with different flavors of No More Naked Popcorn topping. I didn't have to pay a nutritionist to scold me and take away my treats. Using the lowest calorie versions of everyday foods gave me room in my calorie plan to fit in all the servings and all the elements of a healthy, high fiber, balanced diet. Within a year Boo had my weight back in the normal range and it stayed there. Today, at 5'7" I weigh 123-125 pounds when I step on the scale every morning, and I eat mountains of food.

Since reading Slim, Satisfied, and Sexy, I have simply replaced the higher calorie foods that I've always eaten, with the author's lower calorie suggestions, and I have lost weight, without really even trying! I could not be happier about this success. It was so easy! You can create delicious, satisfying meals with ease and without guilt! Diets have never worked for me, because I have always ended up feeling deprived and hungry. I hated the label of 'bad foods' for some of my favorite foods - it would only make me want them more! Now, I can have the so called, "splurge foods" anytime, and feel good rather than ashamed about it! I highly recommend anyone needing to cut some calories in order to shed a few pounds, read this book, and follow the author's plan. I am sure that there are other programs out there that can produce some success, but not without a hefty price tag. Slim, Satisfied, and Sexy allowed me to stick with a plan, without my going broke. I've had great results and I am telling all of my friends about how easy and painless weight loss can be!

Never before has someone told me that I COULD eat the things I love - or HOW to do it! Following this diet program has given me permission to enjoy all of the things that I have had to throw away with other diets for success in my modeling career: waffles, ice cream, Hostess treats, hot dogs, hot chocolate, cream cheese, syrup, mayonnaise. Slim Satisfied and Sexy at 56 has taught me how to enjoy food, not feel deprived, AND lose weight! My mindset has changed from feeling like "I am on a diet, I cannot eat this or that" to thinking about designing my meals by looking at the overall calories I consume in one day. I feel full, but I am also seeing results. A great read before you slip into your summer wear!

This book is the easiest diet book to follow! I've never been able to stick to most diets because they normally deprive you of food. Slim Satisfied and Sexy at 56 allows you to eat food that tastes good and is much better for you. Hot dogs are one of my favorite things to eat and with this diet plan you can have 3 Oscar Mayer Fat-free hot dogs along with 3 Wonder Light hot dog buns at only 360 calories and not feel guilty but yet satisfied. There are tons of great meal tips along with simple recipes to stick to in this book and it has truly changed my life!

The first thing I did after reading this book...was to replace all the high calorie products I have in the fridge with their low calorie substitutes. This alone had me losing weight. With so many diet books out there, it's great to find one that actually works by mostly using products I know and can be found in most supermarkets. I also like the fact that the book say we should eat well as opposed starving ourselves. The author calls it a "Fullness" program and I must say, so far, I've been losing weight without feeling that I'm sacrificing the good things in life. I also found it interesting that this diet plan received a patent, which I believe is quite rare for diet plans. Anyway, I'm actually losing weight without feeling that I'm on a diet and that's a first. Thanks.
