Shows Bear getting ready for his long winter's nap, or hibernation, and his springtime awakening. This description may be from another edition of this product.
My 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old children adore this book. The story is very simple and there are not a lot of words. The pictures get their attention. They fully understand the story as it is being told to them. I will say, "It's getting cold", and my 1 1/2 year old says "cold". When I say, "The birds are leaving" she waves her hands and says "bye-bye" to the birds. They love to point at the bugs and animals. When the bees come back after winter, they cheer. After checking this out at the library, I knew I had to own it. This will be the book I put in the memory box of cherished baby items. We really love this book!
a sweet, simple book

I loved the illustrations, and could feel the change of seasons in my bones. There aren't a lot of words, so if you are reading to an impatient page-turner, then this might be a good book for you. On the other hand, there are details in the illustrations that other children might want to linger over. I did think the ending was a little flat, but perhaps I am being too harsh, since my daughter didn't seem to mind it at all.
