SLADE IN 1977 AND 1978 After their American adventures, the group had returned to the UK and found that the Castle had different Kings. In 1977 and 1978 they released albums that did not chart. The music scene had totally changed in their absence and they couldn't rely on their past glories to get them in the chart. They toured smaller halls and clubs and Universities and fought their way back, slowly but surely. They were attacked by the press and nightclub staff. Interesting times, indeed. This book does its level best to plot Slade's uneasy course through their wilderness years. It is illustrated with gig adverts and photographs, a number of the scarce press interviews that they managed to get and the good bad and ugly music paper reviews.
