Slade Baron's Bride by Sandra Marton released on Sep 24, 1999 is available now for purchase. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Slade's one night stand with the beautiful strawberry blonde turns into much more when he meets her 18 months later and discovers she used him to have a baby, his baby. Fury leads him to force her into an unwanted marriage--but maybe their marriage was wanted afterall. The beginning of this novel started off a little slow but once the characters meet again things pick up. I loved Slade. He was so charismatic and I felt like I could fall in love with him. However, the leading lady got on my nerves. She was very selfish and wanted to keep Slade from "her baby." She was ruthless. She used Slade to have a child and then never told him about the baby. Then when he discovers he has a son she tries to keep him away. She was so mean to him for no good reason. He deserved much better in my opinion but it was still a good book. His son was precious and the hot scenes sizzled. I recommend!

SLADE BARON'S BRIDE was the third book I wrote in my Barons (of Texas) mini-series. At that time (1999) my plan was to write three books about the Baron brothers, but reader response was so wonderful that my publisher asked me to plan for four books instead. I did--I wrote MARRIAGE ON THE EDGE, SLADE BARON'S BRIDE, MORE THAN A MISTRESS and THE TAMING OF TYLER KINCAID... and readers asked for more. I was delighted, because this family has become very real to me. I've now written seven books about the Barons--MISTRESS OF THE SHEIKH came out this past year; THE ALVARES BRIDE will be published in September and THE PREGNANT MISTRESS will be published in April 2002, and I'm currently writing a single title novel about them called RAISING THE STAKES, again in response to the request of my readers. It's always wonderful when people enjoy my books but to have so many people take the Barons to their hearts is a true joy.
