His family supports his decision so he sends them on ahead to locate land for their ranch. In New Orleans, Skye meets Kyle Wyndfor d, a acrid individual who loathes all Sioux for the vicious murder of his brother in the Dakota Territory. Skye and Kyle hit it off immediately and the future for the pair seems bright until he learns that her father is a half-breed Sioux. Between his growing attraction to the vivacious beauty and his abject hatred of anything tainted with Sioux "poisoning", an internal war occurs between his heart and his bitter memories. A twist of fate impels Kyle and Skye to marry and travel towards the Dakotas. Though he tries to keep his distance, the couple falls in love with each other on the perilous trek west together. However, that love is put to the test when Sky visits the Sioux village where her father was raised. Kyle worries about the safety of his beloved just as much as he is angry with her for visiting the camp of his "enemies". He forces Skye to de cide between accepting his love (bias and all) that may force her to never see her beloved father again or to concede that the potential love of a lifetime has too high a cost. It may be left up to Kyle to exorcise his d emons if he wants Skye to be with him forever. Krista Janssen is one of the great western romance writers today due to her ability to provide a picturesque, exciting, and passionate love story in an Americana setting. SKYE LEGACY, the second book in her already gre at "Lakota Trilogy" is an exhilarating western romance that will electrify fans of the sub-genre with its fabulous story line and marvelous lead protagonists. The return of Beth and Fletcher (stars of SKYE LAKOTA) bring a feeling of old friends returning to say hello.
