Another wonderful book by Lila Pinord

Lila Pinord is a wonderful lady who looks and is one of the sweetest persons on earth...who just has the ability to scare the reader to the point of sleeping with the lights on for a month... In each of Ms. Pinord's books, the Native Americn culture is almost a character. Indeed Ms. Pinord was raised on the Quinnault Indian Reservation in Washington, and grew up learning what most cultures have forgotten to do to their descendents, their cultures' history. In Skye Dancer she creates one nasty villian, Charlie Crane. He is this creepy man who hangs around Lake Odawa...he gives everyone the creeps.. One day. long ago, a beautiful young Native American woman, Jessie Dancer, disappears. In those days, sometimes women were taken from other tribes as wives, but she didn't have that fate. Charlie Crane confused Jessie with a long lost woman in his life. He tries to make a home with Jessie - but she fights and will not talk to him. She then switches tactics and starts to be nice, and tries to run away only to be thrown into a pit like an animal. Years later, Jessie's oldest daughter Skye becomes a part of the solution to the mystery by the help of her friends and the love of her mother. The ending is one of the most beautiful and spiritual I have read in a long time. Love and spirit comquer evil - may take a while...but... An excellent read - all of Lila Pinord's books are excellent.

An Eerie Tale Paints a Vivd Mental Picture

Author Lila Pinord uses the pages of Skye Dancer to spin an eerie tale. Her descriptions of the old man, a recluse, Charlie Crane leave you looking over your shoulder at every person with watery eyes and coveralls. The backdrop of Washington State and misty-gray Lake Odawa create the perfect canvas as your mind draws the pictures. The pictures turn into a story that leave you anxious, sad, and terrified all within just a few pages. I recommend this book. Be prepared to read it straight through. You won't want to put it down. What a great read!

All I can say is WOW. I finished this adventure tale in two readings. Lila Pinord's writing style is so descriptive that I found myself watching the story unfold from within the covers of the book. I felt that I was walking, talking and walking with the characters as well as sharing their fears, anguish and joys. I actually feared the morbid behaviour of serial killer Charlie Crane throughout the entire novel. The ending was spun with adventurous twists and dangers that lurked behind every bend. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I actually shed a tear at the warm family ending. After reading this suspenseful tale, it will be a long, long time before I walk in the woods alone or enter a cave again.

"Creepy," says Gary Val Tenuta, author of The Ezekiel Code

For me the experience of reading Skye Dancer was akin to sitting around a campfire listening to someone tell a good story. Not a particularly warm and cozy story although there is some warm and cozy in it. But not a particularly scary story, either, although there are some scary scenes. No, I'd call it a particularly "creepy" story. Yes. Creepy. See, there are people, innocent folks, in and around the little Native American fishing village on the coast of Washington state who are turning up missing or, worse, dead. Skye Dancer's mother was one of the unfortunate victims. But why? What happened? Who dunnit? There seemed to be no end to the possible suspects. For example, what about that mysterious old man living out in the dense, damp, rain-soaked woods near the village? Who is that burly, old stranger out there that some have come to know simply as "the prospector"? Is he really a prospector? And could there be some connection between him and the unexplained deaths? Or is it all due to something else? This is, after all, the region known for its reports of Bigfoot, the Sasquatch, not to mention the strange and dreaded creature of local legend known as the Tsiatco, or "Stick Injun" that preys on young women. And then there's the serene but, some say, haunted Lake Odawa. Could there be something in the lake? Hmm...? And what about that beautiful Native American girl, Skye Dancer? What is the meaning behind her eerie visions? Oh, and did I mention the pit? The creepy, deep, dark pit up on Wolf's Head Mountain? What... or who... is in there? And does it have anything to do with Skye? I won't spoil the story by saying any more. I'll just say get the book, find a campfire, or cozy up to the fireplace in the living room and join Skye Dancer in her search for answers to her strange and disturbing visions. Like the author, Lila L. Pinord, says on the back of the book, "Skye is in for the surprise of her life". So, yes, sit back, relax, and enjoy Skye Dancer. But look out. Something might be sneaking up on you from behind. Like I said, "Creepy". Reviewed by Gary Val Tenuta Author of The Ezekiel Code, http://www.ezekielcode.comThe Ezekiel Code
