Excellent poems for children

McGough is a renowned Liverpool poet with a long collection of publications behind him, both of adult and children's works. His children's poetry is not of the cute and cuddly variety. It is thought provoking and often addresses issues which are very important to children, such as bullying, violence and death. But he also writes material that is uplifting and rip-roaringly funny. This is a short collection of children's poems, and is perfect for children with a reading age of nine and upwards.
