Fun Paper Game

If you like those logic puzzles of the kind that you find out which person lived in which house and owned which pet and which car, AND you like boggle or scrambled word type games, then you'll love this game. You're given a blank 4x4 Boggle "board" that has a few letters filled in. On the side is a list of words that can be found on this board. Your job is to deduce from the list of words which letters go where on the board so that each and every word can be spelled. At first you're given 9 letters to kind of get you going in learning how to fill in the board. It almost immediately drops to 8, then 6, 5, 4, quite a few 3s, lots of 2s, and eventually you're only given 1 letter filled in to get you going. Of course, by this time, you've more than got the knack for how the clues work on the board. The ones that gave me trouble were the ones with 2 or 1 letters given, but with double letters...like 2 O's and 3 R's or such. I really enjoyed playing this, and would love to have more of this type of puzzle. On the one hand, they weren't that hard (except the double letter types...those were beyond me). But then, they weren't particularly easy either. I think I was relatively lucky to have discovered a shortcut pattern that saved me time and effort. On the other hand, that also meant that I finished the book within just a few days. I'm not complaining though. For the price, it gave me an alternative to the kinds of puzzles I've been playing. Alas...now I've a craving for more of this type.

For puzzle buffs...hits the spot!

I love mildly challenging puzzles that I can take to the beach or relax with while in the tub or waiting for my car to get fixed. This book fills that need perfectly. Im not sure if its the best for toilet sessions, because after about a third of the way through the book, the puzzles can take 30 minutes to an hour to solve. I only have maybe 2 bm's a year of that type of duration. But if you are a Soduko fan and you like word games, this is perfect.
