This is a must have life manual for all!

I just want to give the authors of Sister Gumbo praise for such a wonderful and timely book! It is truly an awesome read! I have truly been blessed by each of the stories in Sister Gumbo. I am an avid reader and this book is completely different from any other book I've ever read. What I like most is that I can relate to so much of the women's experiences in the book. The stories are so candid that you begin to feel like you know the people in the book. I also love the way they describe in such great detail the women, places, meals, homes etc. When I read the book, I felt like my mother was right there giving me advice on life. In fact, it's filled with perfect advice for someone like me (a 30-something) who actively dates and hopes to get married and have children one day. Sister Gumbo is a must have "life manual' for sisters ages 21-90! Thanks again for such a great book. I wish the authors continued success with the book and I look forward to the next!

Off the hook

Although this book is real life, it was enough to make you blush in some of the areas. This book is off the hook!! I truly enjoyed reading about the various ladies lives in the book. I also enjoyed the advice they gave as well because there's always something you can learn. But when they spoke on the love lives and affairs, well, it was enough to give Ms Zane a run for her money. These ladies didn't play one bit. But all in all, the book is real good and is good for gifts. Highly recommended.

Wow and Double Wow

Sister Gumbo speaks for it self, giving us the real truth on life and sex. The interviews given by each of these ladies were right on point. Sister Gumbo touched on every emotion we have as women no matter the age. The life examples given in this soul searching book should be read by women from ages 15 to 92.Ladies, I only wish I could have read this book some 30 years ago. A menu of knowledge!

Life as a woman is anything but boring. Every day of our lives we experience a range of different things and often wonder if there is anyone out there who can relate. In Sister Gumbo: Life, Sex and More Sex, a collection of stories compiled by Ursula Inga Kindred and Miranda Guerin-Williams, there is an array or gumbo of experiences that any woman can relate to. This book breaks down life experiences into several different chapters such as sex, self and advice. Within these chapters are discussions on friends, aging and other issues. Every topic relating to life as a woman is located in this book. In reading Sister Gumbo: Life, Sex and More Sex, I felt as though I was having a conversation with an old friend. This book dealt with so many issues that I have experienced. As a reader I felt a kinship with these women and I believe you will too. I highly recommend this great collection of stories. It's About Time!

SISTER GUMBO is a must read for any woman that has ever pondered the mysteries of love and wondered, "Am I the only one this stuff happens to?" No, we are not alone. The moving testimonies in this entertaining book gave me affirmation, motivation, and more than a few chuckles. Kudos to the authors for unveiling the truth and provoking us to think about the choices we make. I enjoyed the book and the gumbo recipe in the introduction is pretty good too!
