This book reflects exactly what the title describes. It allows a person working within the resources of his home to bind books and repair books. In addition to giving instructions on how to replace book jackets, and convert paperbacks to hardcovers, it also tells you where to buy material to use in the work. Many of the venders are still in business today many years later after the publication. It is meant as an introduction so someone can practice this craft as a hobby within their home. It even tells one how to make a home made book press in which to perform the work. An average person can repair and enhance his entire library using the instructions in this book. I recommend it. To take a look check it out from the local library. Every library I have referenced has this popular book.
