What can we say other than most children that go on to science and medicine have early and fun experiences with science. This book can help foster their curiosity. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one of the Time-Life books for younger readers. I probably bought this when my son was about 6-8 years old. One of the things that is kind of neat is that a bunch of pages are dog-eared, from when he and I went through this a long time ago to pick out experiments to carry out! I had completely forgotten this volume until I just dug it out of a stack of other books for young readers. This series, "A Child's First Library of Learning," is based on questions and answers. The first question is "Did you know that plants can be grown without seeds"? Following the query are several approaches to growing plants without seeds, such as plants coming from leaves or plants from roots or grafting plants. There is enough detail given in simple illustrations that one could then try this out with your young reader to see if you can grow a plant without seeds. I actually remember my son and I working to answer the question "How can you make an egg float"? You create salt water and, at the proper density, the egg will actually float. Lots of fun to do this! Anyhow, this would be a nice addition to your young reader's library, so that a parent and child could do some active learning together.
