Significant Others: Left Luggage Poetry

My first book of 75-poems My Broken Heart - 75 Days In The NHS came out of pain - a quad bi-pass and hospitalisation that lasted from late November through to early February - topped up across the whole ordeal with more than a shot at redemption and a boatload of grateful thanks.

This second volume picks up from where that left off and contains 175 new pieces covering SIGNIFICANT OTHERS in my life - rhymes and free-forms that incorporate all sorts of outer/inner influences down through my considerable number of Irishman years.

A wide-range of topics includes:
Dublin, London, Margate - Suffragettes recuperating at Sissinghurst, Eddie Van Halen, Duncan Raban Interviewee Videos on YouTube, Love in the Ukraine War, Self-Help Methods of Recovery, Inc., the 60ts finale of The Prisoner, post Breast Cancer and Quad Bi-Pass survival, She who must be obeyed, an adult son with Autism and Parents approximating the same, Ireland's answer to Lauren Bacall, Reckless Records in Soho, PRIDE Marches in Margate, Aloysius Nosey Parker in Thunderbirds, Red Squirrels, Virgin VS 181 (Sex Pistols), Door Bolts on Nineteenth Century Homes, Tonka Toys, Vinyl and Musical Heroes, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe's old-world black and white photographs, Shifty Tuco and the Bulletbelt Babes and phone slavery to the Infinite Scroll.

Other themes include: Cancel Culture, Barbarella's Chew Toy, Jesus in the Spaghetti, Families in Ireland and England, decent neighbours with building skills, Spitfire engines, Friends and Lovers (past and present), Kids, Loss, Influences, talk of Caractacus Potts, Bob Hope, The Shawshank Redemption, David Cassidy, The Last Bun Special, Re-opening Purgatory, Bicycle Clips, Cloakrooms in the V&A, Dropsy and Ten-Bob Notes, the Fastest Women on Earth (North American Eagles), Desk Clerks Dressed In Black, a Pyromaniac who curses Ants - and so on.
