Starting in April, 1984, with TERMINAL VELOCITY the Super Bolans began appearing from GOLD EAGLE books, at that time they only came out every 6 months or so. Today the Super Bolans arrive in each month's shipment with a total of Super Bolan books now reaching 126 in the series. This Super Bolan #21 in the series takes Bolan back to Japan, working within and along side a CIA-Justice Department investigation ongoing in Tokyo. Japanese business interests in America have been undergoing attacks and killings running into millions of dollars (yen) with several dozen Japanese killed. The president is not happy nor are numerous Japanese businessmen. The attacks are being carried out by 'renegade shock troops', mostly ex-CIA, Raven-Steve Canyon personel, and they are very professional indeed. Ultimately they are attempting to destroy 'America's financial structure'. Bolan has very few leads with attacks coming from many quarters, with his best lead being a friendly ninja who comes to his aid during one of the attacks. Most Super Bolan books contain nearly 350 pages and are roughly a third larger in number of pages than the normal Bolan books. The characters and the plot can handled at a more leisurely pace than the normal Executioner books, but the reading pleasure remains the same. This particular novel was written by Mel Odum, always a premier writer. If a reader is interested in good, solid action adventure the GOLD EAGLE series of books will be of interest. Semper Fi.
