Excellent teaching tool

This book is a big hit with my three-year-old godson, (he loves the illustrations -- especially the six-legged frog that keeps popping up), and with his mother. She was thrilled one evening when he informed her that a pizza can be divided into six parts, and then reassembled back into a whole. (She was less thrilled when he refused to let anyone eat his equation.) Highly recommended.

Beautiful illustrations

An imaginative story combining fairytale and math. The illustrations are very colorful. My daughter loves to have the book read to her. I think it would be suitable for toddlers and grade schoolers because it is so fun to read and visually beautiful.

This fun picture book set to rhyme helps young children understand simple math. The colorful illustrations bring King Sidney's world to life. The yummy treats Chef Brolly makes for King Sidney will have your stomach growling. Sidney is a king who only eats 6 of everything. You can't get him to eat 1, 3, 8, or 10. His chef, Brolly from Brixes, is a clever, talented chef. But Brolly is tired of trying to cut his mixes in 6. Chef Brolly tries different things to trick King Sidney, but nothing works. King Sidney won't eat anything, except the number 6. Brolly cooks a wonderful treat. He makes more than 6 for King Sidney to eat. But King Sidney won't eat this marvelous treat, so Chef Brolly finally quits. King Sidney finally realizes after eating no snacks or dinner that even a King has to give a little. Together King Sidney and Chef Brolly compromise and learn to work together. King Sidney decides to divide his dinner. Chef Brolly makes King Sidney a wonderful feast and King Sidney divides it into 6 plates.
