Would never read again!!!

First the book came in great quality, so it was hard when I wanted to through it off a 4th story building. I really love reading and normally love all the books I read, but I really didn’t like this one like seriously didn’t like it. The love interest was the only thing getting me through it. It just didn’t have a clear end in sight when the book ended I didn’t really feel like I ended the book. It had a crazy plot twist at some point that got me and made me laugh hysterically, but it was resumed like a chapter later. Therefore making it practically useless. Sorry if this is a harsh review, but I have to say this is the book that I have read that I dislike the most. The representation though was very good, but the story line itself wasn’t that interesting or clear to follow.

Sick kids deserve love too

As a 30-something woman, I never thought I would relate so much of my life now with that of a fictional teenager. I was so wrong! Sick Kids in Love by #HannahMoskowitz is the story of Isabel and Sasha, two teens living in #NYC. They both go to school, do homework, hang out with friends, and regularly spend time at the hospital. Ibby has #RA (aka rheumatoid arthritis) and Sasha has Gaucher disease. For those unfamiliar, here’s a (very) brief description. RA is an autoimmune disease where your body attacks your joints. It can cause pain, fatigue, mobility issues, and more as it progresses. #Gaucher’s is caused by the lack of a specific enzyme that causes a buildup of cells in the body, especially the spleen and liver. It also can cause pain and fatigue, as well as anemia, weakened bones, and other issues. Basically, even though you can’t see these problems on the outside, these are two sick kids. They meet at the hospital during routine appointments and become fast friends. Their story blossoms into a beautiful relationship where they help to make each other better people. Not skirt too close to #spoilers, but one helps the other to grow up and learn to take more responsibility, especially outside their illness. And the other helps the one to grow down, to have a little more fun, and to stop worrying about how their illness might inconvenience others. That last bit is something I have struggled with since getting my own diagnoses (RA, #fibromyalgia, #IBS) at 20. I went from being in college, carefree and active, to constant pain and fatigue, and #brainfog. 0/10- do not recommend chronic illness as a young adult. It’s tough to feel like you can’t do something, or know you’ll pay for it later, when you want to just be young and be with your friends. And you never want to saddle them with your issues either or stop them from enjoying their youth. It can be tough to find #balance. #SickKidsinLove is a great #YA read on it’s own but I think is a fun read for anyone looking for more perspective into the lives of the disabled and chronically ill. I think the only thing I didn’t like was how the book ended. It felt unfinished, but maybe that means sequel?
