Book Overview

Now available in paperback

Don't you wish golf on the course was as easy as golf on the practice range? Don't you wish you could bring your range game to the course? Now you can, thanks to a golf psychiatrist and a top golf teacher. You can drive off the tee the way you do on the range--you can also putt under pressure just as accurately as you putt on your carpet. You can hit out of the sand in a tight match the same way you hit over...

Managing the mental side of the game

If everyone agrees that golf is 90% mental, why do we always look for a mechanical cure to improving our scores and enjoyment of the game? I have always been one to crush it on the range, only to be constantly disappointed out on the course. When you can perform on the range, you know you have a swing. If you already know how to play, this book helps you take your best "range game" out to the course. I recommend this book highly. It isn't for beginners, but players who are looking to manage themselves and their games better.

Interesting read

There are many books filled with drills or that give you the best kept secret in golf, and so forth. Most of them are full of good intentions. This is not one of those books. It is an interesting way to look at your golf game. One of its main ideas is that this is a game and you should have a curiousity about how you play. If you are looking for a book that gives you physical drills and five chapters on how to swing a golf club this is not that book. If you are looking for a book on how to relax and accept and enjoy this frustrating game, then buy this one now.

Loved It!

I found this book so much more helpful than 90% of the books that teach about swings or stances. My game has definitely improved since reading this book. I highly recommend it. Another great one along the same lines is How I Went From a 20 Handicap to Par Golf. Both are not to be missed.

Shrink Your Handicap

Excellent book for any golfer who wants to improve their game and understand why the game is so hard (i.e. your biggest obstacle to golfing success is your own mind). The book helps the average golfer understand that they often hit bad shots because of their mental setup, not their physical setup. Also helpful to the better player who wants to understand more about the "psychology" of golf and how you can control mind to play better. I wish more golf books would talk about the underlying psychological battles that occur on the course and how to control them like this book.
