I met the author

I met the author, Shane Acton, in early 1999, in Banana Bay Marina in Golfito, Costa Rica, where "Shrimpy" had been wrecked years before in a storm. Shrimpy had been beached for repairs when a storm came in, and a coconut tree feel on it! Being on the first leg (from San Francisco) of a circumnavigation on my own 43' sailboa, I found Shane and his book to be a valuable resource as well as immensely entertaining.
