What does the S stand for? Seriously, Snicket?

It ties together well in the end but this book in the series upset me a bit more than others because Snicket felt like he was off his game. He let stuff get past him that felt too easy to miss. This feeling happens a couple of times in this book but it all fixes itself in the end.
