This is part of a series

Very good Christian fiction novel! I accidentally ordered it without realizing it was part of a series. Don't make my mistake! I definitely plan on reading them all.

This novel flew by. I couldn't put it down.

This novel is second in a series, but can stand alone. How sweet to revisit well-loved characters and meet new ones! From exotic ocean-bound villages to sea marauders to the heart-warming inn at Kedesh, the settings and new characters are unique, unpredictable, and gripping. Plot twists, y'all! I was on the edge of my seat wondering how things would turn out, how these characters could possibly heal, and how in the world their romance could settle into happily-together-after? Beautifully described imagery, character emotions, family dynamics, and spiritual questions. On a side note, this book made me want to go swimming! Ocean-lovers will take special delight in this tale, as well as anyone who loves an ancient twist on a good pirate story! I'm looking forward to Until the Mountains Fall!

A Lovely Biblical Story

Shelter of the Most High by Connilyn Cossette is the second book in her Cities of Refuge series. Written from Sofea and Eitan’s points of view the story takes place in Kedesh, a city of refuge. Sofea, daughter of a pagan high priest, is from the island of Sicily. After she is kidnapped, she ends up in Canaan. Eitan, after suffering a childhood tragedy, has grown up in the city of Kedesh. When they meet will they be able to put the past behind them and move into a future blessed by Yahweh? I really enjoyed this book. It had everything you could want in a story; pirates, murder plots, romance, forgiveness and mercy. The way Darek loved Moriyah was very touching and sweet. The words of Eleazar, the High Priest, to Sofea were very powerful. It got me to thinking about how everything is ordained of God and nothing happens without His knowledge. We can rest in the Shelter of the Most High. I can’t wait for the next installment. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
