Fishing For the Big Ones

The book Shark is replete with actual fishing adventures Zane Grey took in search of world record size sharks. From Catalina Island off the coast of California to Australia and New Zealand and the South Seas Zane Grey fished the world to hook the fiercest and largest fish he could, and he wrote about his travels in a series of popular fishing books from which these tales are taken. And if you can't afford the entire set then this book is a good introduction I heartily recommend. Remember, Zane Grey was doing this at a time when no one else was, and in places no one else had ever fished.
