Fantastc, Action Packed, Dark Paranormal Romance Read!

Our hero and heroine both portray strong characteristics of those from two different clans with different perspectives. The tragic events (including physical and emotional abuse) and loneliness that surround Alexia, has you gaining more and more sympathy for her as you get to know her. But, not so much that you think her weak. In fact, I found her to be a survivor who wants to be the best leader for her people, and who grows stronger and more confident as the tale unfolds while still maintaining a sense of vulnerability. Declan, too, changes his opinions and personal characteristics throughout the story. Neither character is the same person that he, or she, started out the story as. I also truly enjoyed the way their growing desire and need for one another was written. It never felt rushed, but rather consuming with the high amounts of sexual tension. Best Book Ever!!!!!!!!!

I just got this book and I have to say it is sooo good.I had never read this author but the book looked good and story sounded good. I was going to put it in my ( to be read pile ) but I got home and was looked at it and the pages and just started it and I could not put it down!!!!!!I read it in one day lol!! a day no housework got done.and I was up all night but it was worth it I hope to see more from this author and would love to see more from the dragons like Hawk,Falcon,Kestrel,Griffon or Tallon (Declan sister)I can't wait!!!!!!! you should get this book it was wonderful...O and I forgot the love or sex in the book was great !!! not to much but just the right amount.

The action is nonstop, the sex explosive, the characters compiling.

Declan is a dragon lord, and due to his parents tragic deaths at the hand of the hated vampires, he is now their king. Alexia is a princess, and is about to become Queen of the vampires, if she can only live long enough to do so. Two races battle to possess a crystal foretold to grant the owner the power to rule all. Two people forced to choose between duty and a passion that is forbidden. As the war between the vampire and dragon's heat up the pages so does the passion that the two main characters emit. The point of their first meeting is brutal and none too romantic. Alexia has captured Declan, and in order to find out the information she needs from him, as to where the crystal is, has him tortured and beaten. Now as Declan sits in their dungeon he isn't sure he will live to see another day. That is until Alexia enters the dungeon, and he gets the chance to reverse their roles, he becoming the capture she the captive. Alexia, thinking him to be in a weaken state, is surprise when she finds the tables are turned, and Declan now has the upper hand, and her beneath his hard sculpture body. Instead of being scared she finds an attraction between them nether can deny. Now Alexia must make a choice between her duty to her family, and the man that ignites the the blood in her veins. That's all I can say about this fantastic tale Hatfiled has put together without giving away too much of the story. I just had to tell the part when these two charismatic characters connect. There are some plot twists that you don't see coming, suffice it to say you won't be putting this one down once you get started. I just find it irresistible when I come across a new author, and can't wait to share that with others. The action is nonstop, the sex explosive, the characters compiling. Hatfield puts alot into this story, and it packs punch after punch as the pages fly by. Even though there is alot going on in this book I never found myself confused as I was lead on an never-ending ride into this extraordinary world that Meagan Hatfield has created. Have I mentioned the smokin' hot sex between the two main characters?? The two main characters are both intriguing and endearing in their struggles that come with their roles as leaders of their communities. The imagery of both the vampire horde and the dragon flock are so essential to understand the development of the characters. Also MEAGAN HATFIELD doesn't forget the magnitude of including strong secondary characters into the story, adding a greater understanding to the effectiveness of the story being told. Declan and Alexi magnetism begins right at the start and there is no mistaking the powerful attraction generated by these two characters. There is no reservation between what they feel for each other or the direction that attraction is going to take. You will be swept away as they battle the overwhelming opposition against them. From the first page I was drawn in and this fast paced story of vampires, dragons, and ancient prophecies would not let me go! The choice of dragon-shifters as the vampires' enemy was original. Declan is even able to half-shift, a human body with dragon wings and tail, which Alexia enjoys during their hot love scenes! This story is definitely a DARK paranormal romance. The descriptive scenes of torture and battles were intense. The characters were well written and I could feel their emotions - anguish, fear, love and joy. I enjoyed the secondary characters too. I can see the possibility of at least three future stories based on Declan's sister Tallon, Alexia's mysterious cousin, and others. I am looking forward to reading more from this talented author.
