Excellent and much-needed resource!

This is a comprehensively researched and well-written book that provides a much-needed resource to all in the health care community as well as child health policy makers. It provides a single source of detailed information on sexuality in children and adolescents that is not otherwise available. It provides the reader with a practical understanding of the struggles of being nonheterosexual and the negative impact of stigmatization. A valuable addition to the pediatric literature

This book is a must read for health care professionals, educators, and others who work with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Perrin wonderfully reviews the scientific & medical literature on sexual orientation, children, youths, & families, as well as the physical health, mental health, and social justice reasons that we should all care about that literature. I will be a better pediatrician to all of the children & families in my care for having read this book.

This book presents ways in which health care workers can and should serve children and families in which there are issues of sexual orientation and identity. The concerns may involve the child, the parent(s) or both. This is an area that is important for all health care workers to understand in order to best serve all kinds of familes.
