Condit's Worst Nightmare

Congressman Gary Condit told his mistresses that Mrs.Condit suffers from encephalitis of the brain but I would take her brain over his in a New York minute. "Sex, Power, and Murder" shows in graphic detail how a member of The United States Congress had an adulterous relationship with a constituents daughter and then lied about it.When Chandra Levy turns up missing, the question on everybody's mind is would the sleazy Congressman stoop to murder. We will never know for sure who killed Chandra Levy but Congressman Condit has alot to answer for.Chandra Levy's dead body was found in Rock Creek Park and Rock Creek wasn't one of her usual haunts. Chandra used her laptop to research routes to Rock Creek Park immediately before her death. Whom did she plan to meet in the park?Since nobody has come to forward to claim a planned a meeting with Chandra Levy at Rock Creek Park, Congressman Condit the object of her obsession is not an illogical suspect.Congressman Condit had good reason to fear Chandra Levy. The daughter of a prominent Modesto physician and graduate of The University of Southern California, didn't lack the tenacity of Condit's previous lovers.Perhaps Chandra Levy was using her womb to hang over Condit's head or perhaps she knew too much but clearly Congressman Condit had motive to lure her into Rock Creek Park.Congressman Condit's alibi witness Vice President Cheney could only account for a portion of the critical hours before Levy's death. Condit tries to cover the remaining hours with a phantom chiropractor whoose name and address he can't remember. This book is one of the best true crime books ever written but it does have drawbacks. Its too short for a six dollar book. I also find fault with the authors for quoting psychologists and sociologists who never knew personally any of the actors in this tragedy. This book will leave you asking one question:How does Gary Condit sleep at night??????

A must read true crime book. Riveting!

This book is based upon the files of the National Enquirer. At the time of the writing, no charges had been filed in the Chandra Levy case and the investigation was ongoing. The book follows the events from the time Levy disappeared, on 1 May 2001, to the weeks following discovery of her body on 22 May 2002.Levy was an ambitious nonconformist with a fetish for older, married men. She had received several internships before journeying to Washington, D.C. for an internship with the U.S. Bureau of prisons. Within two months she had begun an affair with Congressman Gary Condit. She became obsessed with the man.Congressman Gary Condit was a man with a hidden nature. On the surface, he appeared to be a gentleman of high moral standing, a devoted husband and father. But beneath, he had a wild side with fetishes for S & M, gay sex, group sex, and experimental adventures with sex toys. He was a man of multiple affairs; cheating on his wife since the day they wed. When Levy and Condit collided, it was the beginning of the end for both.I defended Condit so faithfully. When I was living in Modesto, I met him and thought he was a decent, kind man with an open heart for the veterans in his district. He has done so much to help veterans all across America. I still cannot believe he managed to keep his dark side so well hidden! This book blew my mind ... as well as his image! This was an interesting book. It exposes the dark side of both parties. It tells the story from a neutral point, without attempting to sway the reader to either side. Instead, it throws the dirt out there for everybody to read. If you have any interest in this case, this book is a must read!

Inquiry Satisfied by Enquirer

If you want new and unusual facts about the Chandra Levy case, be sure to read this book!!! This is a well written page turner sure to satisfy your curiosity. "Sex, Power and Murder" brings you into the seamy world of Gary Condit and the power and privleges he wrecklessly wielded. The naive mindset of Chandra Levy is also skillfully observed with attention to the whole "Congressional Intern as Prey" scene in Washington.

Very well written

I think the writers did a great job telling this story. I couldn't put it down and was left shocked at the scope of details they provided I hadn't read anywhere else before. The only problem is, I won't ever look at Gary Condit the same again! Can't wait for the next book of this new series.

Sex, Power, and Money: The beginning!

This is the first of many books about Gary Condit Saga and the Chandra Levy Murder. This book deserves great attention. This tragedy of heartbreak and sorrow gives Americans hope that their elected officials will be held accountable for bad behavior. I urge your purchase...
