Super useful book, all you need to know about sewing with knits!

I was quite surprised to see that this book had no reviews. A while ago, I had just got my first serger and wanted to start sewing almost exclusively out of knits. Both using a serger and sewing with knits were quite new to me, and I felt a need to get some starting help. I first ordered two books about serging, Serger Secrets: High-Fashion Techniques for Creating Great-Looking Clothes and The Ultimate Serger Answer Guide: Troubleshooting for Any Overlock Brand or Model (Creative Machine Arts Series). I just love both of these, the first I read through real quickly, the other I have used as a reference guide, looking up the problem that arise and use the advices given to fix it, something that has been real successful. Serger Secrets is a real useful book and I just love it (read my review if you want to know more), but I really would like something that went a bit more in depth about knits specifically. I found this book at only $0.99 used, only to be real surprised when it arrived, discovering that it actually was brand new. Again I had got a book which I could not put down. Every little thing covered in the book is real useful, and I love how it covers techniques for both using a serger and using an ordinary sewing machine. It explains all you need to know, from knowing different fabrics and their uses, preparing the fabric to cutting and sewing a garment. Everything from sweaters to bathing suits and dancewear is included. It is also very useful to use as a reference guide after reading it, it has an alphabetic index at the back in addition to the "contents" part at the beginning of the book. As you can see, the book is quite old, from 1992, but that really does not matter whatsoever! They cover different types of garments, but this is not a project/pattern book, so the outdated style does not matter. Actually the styles covered might even be quite inspirational for many, as many of the styles on the garments in the pictures are things that are coming back right now... But, bottom line is that it really does not matter, the book is as usual now as it was when it was new! I should add too, that the images are of high quality, making it easy to see small details as stitching perfectly, something that is not always the case in such books (the other two mentioned are also great this way, Serger Secrets has more than 500 images). The book has very good step-by-step pictures showing how to do all the techniques covered, so it is real easy to use to learn things you never tried before, a huge help for me since I could not take classes to learn it. I have had no problems doing the different techniques, letting the book guide me through it! Bottom line, I really can't give it less than 5 stars, it has been a huge help and it is a really good book, almost surreal for me (being used to the much higher Norwegian book prices) to find this book at such low prices. It is now available from only $0.91. Note that there are different editions, hardcover and pa
