It was not what I expected

It was a mini book. You can’t tell that by the description or the photo. I am very disappointed!!

The Best Pick-Me-Up

I've been a fan of Dr. Seuss's since I was a little girl, however I have never been able to keep any of his books for long. When I found the Seuss-isms while looking around, I knew I had to have it. Now, anytime I'm feeling a little low, all I have to do is look for this little book and open it up. There is much about Dr. Seuss to enjoy and his little -isms are the best

Gave it as a gift

Hopefully it will bring many years of joy to my 8 year old grandson!

`A book of common sense from a man who wrote about non-sense.'

Dr. Seuss is unfortunately looked over by some people as just a guy who wrote silly little children's books. That may be partially true, but all of his books had a much deeper meaning if you are willing to be open-minded and take a closer look. His work is brilliant and outlandishly creative; so much so that he is recognized as the creator of the word `Nerd' in the English language when the word was first featured in his 1950 book `If I Ran the Zoo.' Some people believe that it is unfair to take quotes from his work after his death and related it to `lessons of life' the way this book does and that the quotes have no relation at all to what they are connected with. I don't believe that is true at all; I believe that he wrote these stories with the exact meaning they are realted too, which is why his books are brilliant. Here are two of my favorite quotes from the book so you can judge for yourself... ON EQUALITY AND JUSTICE `I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.' ON GOING PLACES `The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.' If you still think Dr. Suess books are just for kids then ponder this... `Every book is a children's book if the kid can read' - Mitch Hedberg

Simple and wise, what the Dr. ordered

Dr. Seuss was a man who could stretch out a set of simple words to delight and entertain his audience. But at the same time, his books also held a deeper meaning on important issues: The Lorax and the Butter Battle Book come to mind. This slim tome is full of little pieces of wisdom, in Seuss' own words and with his drawings. It's Suess-Lite, but perfect for when you just need a smile, or a breather. Sometimes the simplicity lets us look at our selves better and to see the simple truths in living. It is a perfect little gift for the graduate, or just to keep on your desk for when you need a smile, and a short breather to put life in perspective.

Thank you, "Mrs." Seuss!

Your husband's gift to the world lives on and I am delighted that you are following his steps... what a contribution! This is a little book with a big heart full of the doctor's important words and messages quoted from his 44 children's (and adult's) books. This little treasure sits on my coffee table and occasionally pops into my purse to go with me wherever I'm off to and make sure I get my dosage of the Doc's prescription whenever and where ever needed. Rx Dr. Suess' philosophy gives positive results guaranteed with no side effects with the exception of occasional excessive bright smiles.

Nice little pick-me-up...

Yes, the pun is intended. This book is little--quitelittle--and very easy to pick up. It fits perfectly in your bag, pocket, coat, whatever. Whenever you're feeling down and need a pick up, just pick *it* up. Although Dr. Seuss is considered a childrens' author, I admire his work because of it's inventiveness, wonderful cadence, and delightful wackiness. When I'm feeling down I know Dr. Seuss has the prescrpition to make me grin again. This book is a pick-me-up that won't let you down. Happy reading!

a super book

Seuss-isms is a super book! It's funny, easy to read (it's a book of quotes from his many books) and entertaining. Anyone from 3 to 1,003 will enjoy this wonderful book (I'm 12, and I love this book, and so does my mom) Read it!!!!
