A Sociologist takes a different review of serial killers and the pain they leave behind. A handbook,

Dr. Rosemary J. Erickson has, with sagacity and insight, elegantly presented us an enthralling look at evil. As a sociologist, I find it refreshing to know more about the presenter and the influences that may be in play in their work. Dr. Erickson's character and dedication to “getting it right” is very apparent. She is a professional and a scholar, as well as an elegant and skillful writer. It is said that "words without facts are suspect", Serial Killers and the Aftermath presents the reader with a close-up look at evil—presented with facts, statistics, case histories, and even chills. It is not easy to put it down because it gives new meaning to “a page-turner”. As a retired law enforcement executive from South Florida, and in a time of anomie in society's dealings with law enforcement i.e., officers and deputies being assassinated, I appreciated Dr. Erickson’s special tribute, in her Epilogue, to the professionals who daily protect and serve. This book belongs on the shelves of every educator, law enforcement executive, loss prevention manager, and managers of businesses large and small.
