Sensei is masterful

Sensei is the first book in the Connor Burke series. I really enjoyed the action, in and out of the dojo, as well as all of the Japanese martial arts culture. The story flows well and is interesting, capturing you soon and not letting go. I highly recommend Sensei, as well as the second and third books in the series (Deshi and Tengu). Kage, the fourth Connor Burke book, is in the making!

"Sensei" packs a punch!

As a third degree Black belt I am somewhat jaded on the whole fantasy of martial arts and the media. From the flying choreography to the comedic stunts and sound effects, they all tend to degrade or detract from the greatness that the martial arts provide. Not so in this novel. This is a terrific thriller from someone who certainly knows the Martial Arts as a master! The writing is superb and provides just enough terrific detail to have you looking over your shoulder and preparing to confront that odd noise you think you heard in another room. This is a must-read for any martial arts student or any martial artist wannabe! 5 Stars...and keep them coming!

Sensei is ingenious, expertly crafted, and a rare mixture of being both intellectually provocative, as well as high-octane entertainment. John Donahue has created one of the most likeable characters in fiction today. The combination of action, suspense, and information is a pure delight. Sensei is easily one of the most exciting novels I have ever read.

John Donahue's no stranger to the world of Martial Arts - he's an expert and it shows in this novel, a snappy thriller, Sensei.The dialog is so readable, I was reading the new Nance book, and just glanced at the first page and was hooked - Nance can wait!More more of these characters, Mr. Donahue!!!This is a wonderful thriller and a welcome addition to the regular gang of thriller authors -
