Take it as it comes to you and think on it before adding any more info to your conclusion

This is a sad and tragic story that all would want to know. Conglomeration of ALL the facts would be next to impossible. However, I think I did GET IT. Still sad all the way around.

Absolutely Terrible!!!

Everything about this book has been GOD AWFUL, the author is so self obsessed in praising herself for her work the day of Selena's murder and also her coverage on the trial... she appears to have sided with Yolanda which is absolutely disgusting considering anyone with a brain knows that woman is evil and demented... 10/10 GARBAGE book, do NOT recommend.

A must read for all fans

I was introduced to Selena's music by students in my Spanish classes in the late 80's, so by the time she was murdered, and then the movie came out, I was already a huge fan. I have read almost everything there has ever been about her. Based on reviews of this book, I was afraid I was going to find major fault with it. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Though there are a couple of things that I don't believe, I found this book to be an invaluable resource about the trial. I read the book while simultaneously watching the Univision mini series about it. Those who say Maria was on Yolanda's side couldn't be more wrong. This book shows just how manipulative and delusional she was. Read it and draw your own conclusions based on your knowledge and that which is presented here.

Wow

I honestly love how she writes and describes each detail. I just started to read again & happened to pick this book up along with Selena’s husbands book (GREAT). She has gave me a hunger to read, it was hard to put this book down. This book gives details that confused me, intrigued me, saddened me, and all around gave me more insight on Selena’s life. I highly recommend this book!

I highly Recomend this book.

This is a great book. I was not able to put it down. If you are interested in what happened about Selena's life, you must read this book.

Selena's Secret by Maria Celeste Arrarás

I very much enjoyed this controversial book. I could tell that the writer was a t.v. journalist by the way she depicted the different situations that followed the tragic murder. María Celeste Arrarás painted us scenes with printed words and gave us the impression that we were watching a movie. Superb!

Selena Story

It was good to know things about Selena Tragic Death Story I wasn't aware.

You've Gotta Read Between the Lines to "Get" It

Maria Celeste Arraras did a wonderful piece of work in detailing the trial, Selena's familys' feelings and comments, and elaborating, without outwardly revealing, what she had promised Yolanda Saldivar she would not reveal as the so-called Selena "secret". The only problem I had with the book is what would happen with any other book dealing with Selena's death, and that is that no one, except Yolanda and Selena, will ever know what actually happened on the day of the murder and why it had happened in the first place because Selena is no longer with us to say her part. Since only the killer is left on Earth, the truth may never be revealed. While paying careful attention to Ms. Arraras's insinuations and connotations, by the end of the book you do figure out what Yolanda's secret about Selena is. However, once the secret is revealed, it is still not explained why this would have triggered Yolanda to have murdered Selena in the first place. It basically just revealed a part of Selena's life in which Yolanda would have played no part. But maybe that in itself triggered some sort of alienating feelings in Yolanda, igniting her feelings to harm Selena. But, this possibility is only my opinion. You are basically left to think up your own conclusions as to the motivations of Yolanda's sick mind. Overall, for Selena's fans it is a very good read, although a conflicting feeling of deep sadness mixed with joyous victory remains when you finish the book. The trial is over, Saldivar will serve life in prison, but you again realize that Selena will be gone forever.

The correct title in Spanish: El Secreto de Selena
