I believe this is an important book. The author has collected testimonies from people, mainly in the UK, who report having had an experience with an angel for her PhD thesis. These experiences vary, and may include: sensations of being touched, or even lifted or pushed out of a dangerous situation; receiving guidance, e.g. when lost; hearing a voice; smelling a wonderful fragrance for which there is no natural explanation (usually in the context of someone's death). Likewise, the appearance of the angels varies, from the "classical" picture (with wings) to the guise of human beings with an extraordinary air to them, and who disappear once they have fulfilled their task. Some of the testimonies provided are indeed impressive, and some reports are corroborated by several witnesses. The methodology appears to be sound. In sum: an important contribution to the literature on religious experience and the supernatural, in a style accessible to the general reader. It may well change your world view!
