The Sum of this great book is Some great teaching!

This is a great book for teaching homophones and homographs! I use it to show that the same word, with same spelling (a homograph) can be both a noun and a verb. It helps me to review nouns and verbs with my third graders and also go further into dictionary work/ entries. They LOVE the illustrations. Thanks for a great book!

Homonyms - such a funny word and book showing kids what this funny word means!

Like other reviewers my child loved this book too! What really makes this book is Brian Lies' illustrations which are cute. This book helps show children what homonyms and and also helps expand their vocabularies! A lot of fun as an easy reader to boost your child's confidence in reading! This book should be republished! This book is rated as a Early Step into Reading book for Preschool & Kindergarten. As far as reading for preschooler they would have to be pretty advanced reader. Realistically I think this book is for kindergarten child who are in the last half of the school year and for some children who are struggling to read in 1st.

I used this book to introduce high-level pre-schoolers to homonymns. The illustrations made the lesson fun and was an excellent teaching tool from cover to cover.

It works!

My son is 5.3 yrs. After reading through it twice together he was able to read it by himself. The graphics enable the reader to envision why a homonym is a homonym. The words are nicely spaced and easy to read. I had the same experience with Sunshine,Moonshine which is another of the books in the Early Step into Reading series. I highly recommend it.

DELIGHTFUL!

My seond graders loved it! A teacher's delight. It's the best book of playful homonyms I have seen in my twenty-two years of teaching. Wish I had found it sooner!
