Page turner!

Facing tragedy, finding truth

Story didn’t move fast enough

I guess it was just me. I expected more excitement.

Lots of secrets!

Lots of secrets in this book! Everyone has them, but this book was mostly about Sara, a mom to Keith, who was burned in the last book. This intriguing book flew by for me because I wanted to know what happened to Sara, who Jen really was, because I didn't believe her story for ONE minute. I mean, she KNEW who Keith and Maggie were from the beginning! The writing was outstanding! I couldn't get enough. Andy was adorable. Although I couldn't wrap my mind around thinking it was OK for them to have sex. Not ok with me at all. I did love the love stories, but need the map the cross reference everyone. I hope Ms. Chamberlain decides to come out with a third book!

couldn't put down

This was such a good sequel! I read it in 3 days and as a stay at home homeschooling Mom of 3 kids that says a-lot!

Another Chamberlain Winner

I absolutely love Diane's stories---there have been none disappointing me. And this one totally "wows" me. I read all of her books but since I have read hundreds in between, I couldn't have remembered details to this story from before. However, in Diane's wonderful style of writing, it's not necessary to have read or to have remembered details from before since she very subtly fills you in on what happened in the past. She does it so perfectly that it triggers all those memories and helps you to fit all the pieces together without an effort. This is a story of love and loss, pain and agony, regret and hope. It is the story only a "retired" social worker can put together so effortlessly. She does get into the heads of all the characters and is able to develop each one so you feel that you actually know these people very well. You "live" in their small town and feel their pain. I thought the ending was amazing----wonderful. But as others have shared, I also would love to see a trilogy and have the story continue in another book. Hear us, Diane? Perhaps that's your plan. I have recommended Diane's books to many and everyone raves about her style, her knowledge of the human mind and foibles, her attention to detail and her powerful stories. She's the best in my book and I always look forward to her next quality story. They're never long enough---I never want them to end. So a continuation is always longed for. Keep them coming, Diane. :)

POWERFUL...I'M IN AWE!!!!

I absolutely LOVED this book and am in 'awe' of Diane's talent...Diane creates an amazing story with a powerful ending. I know of no other author who can get inside the heads of various characters and bring them to life in such a realistic way. Diane makes me care deeply about wonderful characters...AND those that are not always nice people; which is the mark of an exceptional writer...creating dramatic and intense situations with complex people I don't always like but care about all the same. With attention to emotions, characterization and a beautiful sense of place, Diane delivers again with her message of whats most meaningful in life.

A great conclusion

This book is a wonderful conclusion to the stories that began in "Before the Storm". As Chamberlain is known for, this storyline quickly pulls you in and doesn't let go until the very last page. I read it in a week (and that is saying something since I am a stay at home mom of two). I am actually sad that I am finished, I want to know more about what happens with the Lockwoods...maybe Diane Chamberlain will make this a trilogy? In any case, if you are a fan of Chamberlains' this book will not dissapoint.
