I have attended a Harvey Houtkin seminar

This man is a national treasure. The benefits he is providing to the general investing and trading public is nothing short of incredible. His book is great. Very understandable, clear and to the point. A must read. If he is lecturing in your area he is a must see.

A real eye opener

As a casual investor, I never realized all of the opportunities I had been missing, or very simply how my naivete had placed me at a disadvantage in the equities markets. I find it hard to believe that some of the practices which are conducted today by some of the larger brokerage firms are legal, albeit not ethical. Who could ask for more than a level playing field?

Be grateful--not critical!

Most people create nothing,do nothing, and blow smoke out their ass. Mr. Houtkin has been the spokesman for the individual market participant for over ten years having pioneered direct access electronic trading for the masses. People knocking his efforts don't understand the issues of todays market and are hurting themselves by being so ignorant. If the book was totally useless which it certainly isn't, it should be purchased anyway az a tribute to this man's efforts to make the market fairer.

Friedfertig's book is good but not for the beginner

If you've traded for years and know alot about trading, market making,and have a working knowledge of all aspects of Wall Street, The Elecronic Day Trader is a good step foward. If you are looking for a very understandible and digestible disertation on electronic trading, this is the book. you walk away with an understanding of what it is all about. Great first read and more.

NO BETTER INTRO TO ELECTRONIC TRADING...PERIOD!!!!

I chuckle when I read critical reviews of this book. I have worked alongside Mr. Houtkin for a long period of time and have seen him turn many very unfullfilled people into content successful traders and improve their quality of life immensely. Other books have been written by wannabe traders or academics but there is nothing like the real thing. Most of the critical comments apparently come from losers who are trying to transfer their failure or at least rationalize it by blaming the daytrading concept. The hundreds of successful traders at the many All-Tech offices around the country and the numerous traders operating out of their own homes and offices is living proof that the theories and techniques expoused by Mr. Houtkin are right on the money. Don't be disuaded by envious losers who were cheap and took shortcuts or listened to fast talking promoters. Houtkin is the real deal and so is his book. If you hope to succeed in trading...there is no alternative.
