Excellent read for those starting to learn about Egypt

This is a great book for the well read scholar of Egypt or your average young reader looking to develop a deeper understanding of the Egyptian culture. This was the first book I read in my studies of Egypt and it left a taste in my mouth which I needed to satiate. My thanks to the author for a great read on a riveting topic.

A very readable, informative book on Egyptian archeology

McMahan has taken the subject of archeology and brought it to life. It was easily one of the most enjoyable books that I've read this year. He skims through the Egyptian past, shedding light on popular myths and tales. He also discusses the finds, who made the finds, and the background of why discoveries were made as they were. Great book !
