Amanda Reynolds was a starry eyed but abused 17 yr old who was rescued by a protective boss (Drew Connors) from her abusive father. After several years of marriage Amanda walks away from Drew without a trace. She felt that she could no longer live with a man who didn't love her as much as she loved him. Amanda walked away starting a new life for herself and leaving Drew confused. The wedding of mutual friends brings them back together after several years. Old lies and secrets come to the surface causing Amanda and drew to look to each other for love and support. A wonderful read.

"Secrets of the Heart" is Amanda and Drew's story. Their love, though at first undisclosed, later becomes unleashed. After years of separation, fate brings Amanda and Drew together again. They both separated for reasons not discussed, but somehow love knows its own. Together again for a lifetime of love. I enjoyed the story. Amanda's and Drew's love truly proves that love can last a lifetime. Amanda never forgot the love she had for Drew even though she did not voice her opinion in her youth. Drew was the same way and did not share his true feelings for Amanda until years later. However, with maturity, their love continued to grow.

I really liked this one. Drew and Amanda's love stands up to a lot of things. Amanda had to really trust in her and Drew's love for her in order to accomplish what their love ended up being. Tyner discussed some heart felt issues in this one. Great read!
Good but not the Best

As I was reading the book I was trying to figure out what was really behind Amanda's fathers attitude toward her. The story was at a good pace and I love the patience of Drew. He gave Amanda the space when she needed it and was there to comfort her at the right time. Despite all that Amanda went throught she was a very strong woman. I was happy that she strived to do her best despite the unloving childhood she was rainsed in.There were a lot of secrets in both families. The story line was well written.Although I like False Impressions better this is a very good read.
Excellent!

I have read all books ever written by Marilyn Tyner. This one meets, to the standard of her writing I have come accustomed to enjoying. Here is a story about family secrets, betrayal, lies and the power of love. The title of this book definitely meets up to the standard of the written plot. Amada Reynolds has been living in an abusive home and finds herself getting married to Drew Connors to escape her father but finds she gets more than she bargained. To not give away too many clues of this story, which is a must read, the author has done an outstanding job. Ms Tyner developes this story well, character assessment are good, story moves at an easy pace for all to read, you feel yourself being right in the story yourself. You feel the love and patience that Drew gives Amanda. Of course, no story with a married couple would not be complete without the "hated mother-in-law" well read this book and see how she gets transformed. Enjoy solving the mystery behind the family secrets as each page brings you closer to the truth. Thanks, Ms Tyner for giving us such an interesting book. Looking forward to your next book.Check out some of my other favorite books published by this author: False Impression, Step by Step and Secrets. All three of these are very good books to read.
