If you are serious, this is it.

The best, most carefully written book on location lighting I've read. Needs to be updated for digital (all references are to film and the associated color correction issues). Can be skimmed for the great examples, each explained in detail, or read through to get his narrative as well. Most of the work has been for national magazines, so it is slick and impressive. I will read and re-read this book.

A Master at Lighting--Bob Shows You How

Bob Krist is a master photographer who has come across all the difficult lighting problems and has found ways to overcome then. He shows you how he did it--in a clear explanation and with diagrams. Bob shows many comparison shots-- of how the shot looked and what he did to make it a great shot. Bob is a down to earth photographer who shows how to use what you have and not go out and buy the store for a shot. I recommend this book for all levels of photogrhers who want to make better pictures.

Very clear, yet detailed instructions

The before and after shots in this book are spectacular. For example, Krist shows you a picture in an ordinary lab room with flourescent lights and no special lighting. Then he shows you how to make it a magazine-quality photo with light fillers, gels, etc. Exceptional book.

Well written, easy to understand book. Excellent!

Excellent book that emphasizes multiple lighting sources for on location photography. . .mostly corporate type photos. Gives detailed examples throughout the book. You can look at the photo and then review the detailed info (inlcuding diagrams) of how the lighting was achieved. Highly recommend!

Clear, well laid out, inspireing.

As a pro in a remote location I constantly need an opening to new ideas, Bob's book provided this. The book is very well laid out, clear and has already improved my techniques conciderably.
