Very Good Book

I found Silva's book very thorough in its detailing of the crop circle phenomenon, particularly in regards to clearing up the discrepancies between real crop circles vs. hoaxes. I like how he mingles thorough research with personal observations and experimentation. I also really enjoyed the chapters about the connections to sound, light, and ancient cultures and spiritual traditions. As someone who is not very scientifically inclined, I found Silva's language to be accessible, as I found myself wishing I had paid more attention to my geometry and physics classes when I was in school. I'm always fascinated by serious discussion of the mysteries of our universe, and this book certainly did not disappoint in that regard.

Broadens the mind.

In the past I've had various crop circle photos and calendars put to me but its never raised much more than an inaudible grunt. But after listening to Silva on Mysteries of the Mind radio, I didn't hesitate in going on-line and getting his book. Regardless if you believe crop circles are made by ET's or not, the consciousness that is behind them is intriguing to say the least. How is it that tests of the soil inside the circles show no moisture yet soil outside the circle does? Why do compasses not work? Why do people feel nauseous and experience time loss inside them? Why does it take the fakers two days instead of the minutes the real ones take to make and even then they still look forged? In terms of value for money I give Silva's work 5 stars purely because of the depth of material and glossy photos. There are interesting connections made to sacred geometry which after trying to digest Drunvalo Melchideks Flower of Life manuals I found quite useful. But those readers with more advanced knowledge of geometry may find it superfluous, but thats what fingers are for - skipping the bits you might already know. Personally I'm ambivalent if the maths and geometry formula's don't stack up to what's conventionally accepted. Quantum science at least shows we are energy based beings and our reality reflects our consciousness. Its quite apparent these designs are energetic in nature and hopefully will bypass the rational mind and speak directly to the Spirit. A very interesting book and I'd also recommend his DVD "Stairways to Heaven". Regards, Daniel John Hancock

I must recommend this book. Do not let the 'controversy' of said agriglyphs influence your judgement. The proponent explanation is one of extra terrestrial intelligence whereas the skeptic ascribes the phenomona to human hoaxers, but to sit and debate with oneself or others clearly misses the point. These stigmas are unfortunate.Indeed, this book is unequivocally the most interesting and awing I've owned. It is not merely about "crop circles" and their stigmas. It is in its essence a spiritual book because the majority of it deals with the meanings, both factual and speculatory, of these phenomenons (I interpret said meanings as spiritual although you may not). Not stuffy, boring maxim type of spirituality but such that it is revealed through advanced (sacred) geometry, allusions to Human DNA, and references to our own primeval cultures.Any inclination to believe 'where they come from,' in whichever form, is not needed to be awe-struck and moved by this book... in fact, such a preoccupation is completely missing the point. Freddy Silva is not a charlatan nor does he present his material in such a way. The supposed complexity of any material is no excuse for a simple mind to deride it or its expositor. Ignorance never appologises for the lack of effort involved (wink, wink).

THE SPIRAL CONNECTION

Browsing in Borders last October, I pulled this book off of the shelf - flipped to the amazing color photos - and was, in turn, literally pulled INTO one of them! This very surprising physical reaction led me straight to the cashier and on a mad dash home to devour the book. I just ordered my 4th copy, to replace the ones I've given away already!!For me, the true value of Silva's meticulous scholarship lies well beyond the drama of information conspiracies (puzzling and amusing as they may be.) This book is a must for anyone involved in energy / lightwork, IMHO. If you've begun to discover our basic energetic connections to the Earth, simply looking at the pictures will affect your resonance!Crop Circles weren't really of more-than-passing interest when I encountered "Secrets In The Fields". And, like other reviewers here, Silva's detailed mathematics left me more mystified than edified. BUT so many other bits of the information offered here are immediately relevant to the shifting frequencies around us - and connect sychronistically, on numerous levels, with ALL of the information (re)surfacing now to assist in humankind's evolutionary transition.Silva doesn't try to ram his own conclusions down the reader's throat - a refreshing approach that lets the information speak for itself. My 'advice'? Buy the book for yourself - show the pictures to everyone you know! There's a primal healing energy here that speaks to the subconscious Self in an ancient, timeless whisper of renewal.

Required book for those interested in crop circles

In "Secrets in the Fields: The Science and Mysticism of Crop Circles" Freddie Silva provides a thorough examination of Crop Circles. While his investigations over the years has lead him to the conclusion that they are of supernatural origin he does not shy away from examining the issue of other possible causes and provides a strong argument for his position. The text is very thorough and provides one of the most extensive analyses of crop circles that I have ever read. Analysis of the history of crop circles is exhaustive as is the analysis of fraudulent crop circles and mathematical relationships within the crop circles. While the arguments and analysis was generally very convincing and well laid out I had some difficulty accepting some of the mathematical analysis as being significant. For example, he looks at geographic patterns and discusses the relationship between the shapes and other geometric shapes. One contains a hexagon and another various triangular patterns, etc. and these are significant. Well if it is a geometric shape then several of these relationships are going to exist by definition of it being a geometric shape. It is kind of like making a big deal out of a circle with four tangent lines that form a square around the outside of the circle and making the observation that if you bisect the square at any point it also bisects the circle... well that is by definition of the shapes in question. So, while he seems to go a little too far in seeing those relationships he also does one of the best jobs that I have ever come across in refuting the case for true crop circles being created by people. A detailed and fascinating read, I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in crop circles.
