Great book for teens and parents of preteens (to be ahead of the game) and of teens to help the parents and teens cope and relate to each other.The web site related is helpful too.

The Book Tells It Like It Is

This book is a necessary "bible" for parents of teens, both boys and girls. It is pretty apparent this author has a clear view of how our teenagers view the world today. It touches on sexuality, body image issues, family, boys, drugs and alcohol and teaches the reader how to deal with, explore and persevere through this situations or help a teen through these situations. It is so important for our teens to have open communication today, real life advice and to be able to offer words of encouragement to our kids growing up in today's society. A great resource for all families who have teenagers... should be on every parent's shelf.

Must have for young girls

This book is laid out in the perfect format so girls can do a quick scan for a specific topic or read beginning to end. Now is the time for young girls to be encouraged to find their strength even if they don't have strong bonds with their Mom or sister(s). All girls go through similar experiences and feelings and it is crucial that they know they are not alone and can find their own support system to get through the tough teen years. This book is a wonderful tool to help them do that! We bought a copy for our girls and will be buying more for friends, for sure!

Creativity of the book

This book it so awesome. Every girl that is a teen or has been a teen at some point knows all about the challenges we take and this book is such a help. You get to read about other girls who have been through the same situation and read about how they handeled it. This book is perfect for every girl, with out a doubt. It covers everything you can think of, so when you have a certain problem you want to read about you just know you can pick up that book and read about your problem. I recommend this book for every girl.

Great resource for parents AND teens!

After reading this book, it is clear that the author has spent countless hours with teenagers. The reader gets a glimpse into the tough things teenage girls deal with on a daily basis - family situations, boys, drugs and alcohol, sexuality, body image. I was a teenager less than 10 years ago, and this book still opened my eyes to what teenagers are dealing with these days (a whole lot more than I dealt with 10 years ago) and how to help them not only get through these times, but excel and set goals, dream big, achieve, and support each other. This book is an excellent resource for both parents and teens - offering real life advice on how to deal with tough situations. It's also a very easy read - with engaging anecdotes and easy-to-relate to situations. I highly recommend it to anyone who works with teenagers, has teenagers in the house, or is a teenager!
