Sarcastic and Negative

I thought this would be a happy sweet story for my child, but it is more sarcastic and negative in its attitudes throughout the book. When scanning through, this was evident to me on every page I turned to. Lemony Snicket's quote on the front cover says, "If you don't like this book, there is something very wrong with you." Not quite the quote I want on my kids' book. Many people may not mind, and it's not over the top terrible...
