THIS IS THE STORY OF CYNDY GARVEY, FORMER WIFE OF DODGER STEVE GARVEY. SHE SHARES WITH US A FASCINATING AND DEPRESSING STORY OF HER LIFE AS A CHILD AND HER 10 YEAR MARRIAGE TO STEVE. ALONG THE WAY, SHE TELLS OF HER PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABUSE FROM HER FATHER, THE INFIDELITY AND COLDNESS OF HER HUSBAND AND THE VERBAL INSULTS AND ABUSE SHE TOOK FROM THE MEDIA AND HER FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS. I FOUND THIS BOOK AN EXCELLENT READ. I FOUND THE HIGHLIGHTS TO BE HER HONESTY ABOUT SEEKING COUNSELING, HER RELATIONSHIP WITH REGIS PHILBIN AND SOME OF THE DRAMA BEING MARRIED TO AN ABSOLUTE SELF CENTERED PERSON WHO ABANDONED HIS OWN DAUGHTER IN A HOSPITAL. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

I read this book, and believe it is true! and if, Nicole brown Simpson, read this, and her friends, the Garveys,past and present, Steve and Candice! would, have seen ,it coming!!!! and all her friends! I give Cyndy,a badge of courage, for telling, the truth, about these, low life men, in sports, that think, they r so special! and can do what they want! money, power, and low lifes! Id spit on OJ, and Steve Garvey! like a bug, on my rug!!!!!!! and never think twice about it! Low life trash! black or white! low lifes!

Excellent insight to the other side of a sports hero

This book gave an excellent insight into the other side of a national sports hero from the perspective of an abuse survivor. As mentioned in the book, there are many forms of abuse individuals can inflict upon others. Whether it be physical, sexual or verbal abuse an adult can inflict on a child or emotional abuse an adult can inflict on another adult, the consequences of that abuse can be far reaching. Thank you Cynthia for forcing me to look at my childhood from a different perspective and appreciate how some of the wrongs against me have been corrected. Peter
