Andrea Edwards is one author you can always count on for excellent books! SECRET AGENT GROOM is the second book in THE BRIDAL CIRCLE trilogy set in a small town in Indiana, and you'd be depriving yourself of many hours of great reading if you don't read all 3 books (and, in order, I'd suggest). The first book is titled IF ONLY I HAD A ... HUSBAND, and the third book is PREGNANT & PRACTICALLY MARRIED. But, back to SECRET AGENT GROOM...This book focuses on mysterious Alex Waterstone and worrisome Heather Mahoney. Alex was the rebel and Heather the shy, nice girl when they were in high school. But, now they're adults and living next door to each other. Alex is an undercover agent (posing as an English professor) who is trying to crack a gambling ring in nearby Chicago. So, he's trying NOT to involve innocent-bystander Heather in his life and thereby put her in danger. However, he finds himself drawn to the caring woman who will run around their yards in her pajamas just to save stray cats, among other things she'll do to protect those around her. Why would a hardened secret agent find himself falling for a kindergarten teacher? As every good romance novel does, this book equally shows what's going on in both the hero & heroine's minds. However, due to the length of this review, suffice it to say, Heather's character is also well-written, and you will be rooting for both of these very different-seeming characters to get together. Again, you'll kick yourself if you don't read this trilogy in order, because each book is connected to the next, chronologically, and all of the characters are integral to each of the books. So, READ THESE WONDERFUL BOOKS BY ANDREA EDWARDS! P.S. The background information about the area of northern Indiana that these books are set in is fantastic! You get a real feeling for this town and the people who all seem to know each other their whole lives. The Wizard of Oz festival that these books are set amidst is a real festival that takes place every year in Chesterton, Indiana. So, revel in all this interesting background info!
