The publication of the book "Furred People" provoked a lot of public interest and created problems for the residents of McDugal's Kirk Farm. Some were just a nuisance, but some were dangerous, so patrols were upped. They expected to be contacted by other furred people who had been in hiding. It didn't happen until the appearance of Thor Erikson, owner of the clipper ship, the Flying Dutchman. Thor was Family of Cain but as he and Peter Lyon of the Children of Seth got acquainted, they began to form a plan. With the Flying Dutchman to provide transport, they decided to make an epic voyage searching for the remnants of their furred families. They hoped to permanently settle the centuries old feud between the two furred families.
