A great book to share

Another quality series of books from DK. Good sturdy pages for little hands, wonderful clear and bright photography (no illustrations) and easy to read vocabularly. A wonderful learning tool for your baby and toddler. YOu can read to them, point things out and get to smell something as well. We've been enjoying this series of books for over two years and after lots of "scratching" we are still enjoying lots of "sniffing".

Scratch and Sniff Shopping

Our three month old really enjoyed looking and smelling this book. The colors are vibrant and the fragrances peaked his curiosity. After reading it, we were so pleased that we took a trip to the grocery to show the little one all the things mentioned in the book. It is a great learning tool and helps infants use their sense of smell. I highly recommended.

It's Stinkalicious!

My fourteen-month-old son has been addicted to the two earlierScratch and Sniff books in this series ("Scratch and SniffFood" and "Scratch and Sniff Garden"). So naturally, when I saw that two new Scratch and Sniff books had come out, we just had to have them! This book has proven to be another winner. I love the big, bright pictures of each "smelly" item, which we use to teach our son the names of objects. Plus, unlike other scratch and sniff books that I've found, the smells last and last -- our two earlier books are still going strong six months later after near nightly use. In addition, the smells actually smell like the object, from the ginger cookies to the leather shoes (our son's favorite is the big red apple -- he says "mmmmmm" afterwards). We credit these interactive scratch and sniff books in good part for helping to develop our toddler's strong love of books. At eight months, his eyes would open wide as he waited for us to scratch the picture and hold it up to his nose. A month or so later, he was leaning forward to smell -- and lick! -- the picture himself. Now, at fourteen months, he scratches the pictures himself and then holds the book up to his nose. Still, he continues to lick the pictures as he smells them (we call them his "scratch and lick" books), but we're just thrilled that he gets so much enjoyment from this book. In one word, "Scratch and Sniff Shopping" is absolutely stinkalicious!
