intro to geometry, reasoning, proof of geometry, parallel lines & planes, circle, triangles, similarity, solids, transformations etc. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book presents a very good treatment of high school geometry. It covers the standard topics in the standard way, with very good explanations and plenty of problems that relate to the examples. The book is a better choice than the more commonly used Jurgensen text. It helps the student understand how to approach the proofs rather than just giving them the proofs. It moves at a comfortable pace and helps students understand what they are doing along the way. From a purely mathematical viewpoint, the book makes some funny choices as to which properties to postulate vs. which ones to prove. For example, they postulate the theorem regarding parallel lines and alternate interior angles, but they prove the parallel theorem. It makes more sense to postulate the parallel postulate and to prove the AIP theorem. But what they do teach they teach well.
