Schultz is a hard to find gem in the Donleavy list. Have to buy it used. It's sequeal "Are You Listening Rabbi Loew?" is even funnier. I nearly busted a gut multiple times. Schultz has more stream of consciousness. Rabbi Loew is pretty much no holds barred, Donleavy going nuts, all out, slap in the face humor. I'm telling you he didn't hold anything back. These two books are amazing. I hope you don't get the Oriental venereal plague just through osmosis. BRAAHHAAHHAAAHHAAA!!!!
women will enjoy Shultz too !

Donleavy's female characters are difficult, robust and fiesty and Shultz is in love with all of them except the huge bemoth. The subtelty and nuance and beauty he notices in the female characters almost make me want to be a man to fully appreciate them myself. This is a bubbling, zesty book that will leave you breathless, both sexes will enjoy it not just men.
This is an ace funny book

One of the few books that made me laugh out loud. Less touching than 'The Ginger Man' but funnier (if you're a man). Buy it.
