Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark: best trilogy ever

I would have to say when I bought book 2 at a book sale WAY~ back in grade 3, I loved every story written in it; funny ones and scary ones. When I saw the box set for sale 20 years later, I did not have a second thought. Recommend buying.

Love this!

These books were such a huge part of my childhood! Happy to once again have it!

Brings back memories!!!

I LOVED reading these books as a kid!! Scared me then and still spooks me now that I’m an adult! Definitely worth the read if you’re interested in some spooky nostalgia!!

A Classic

Weird to think I read these all the time as a kid. I remember them scaring me but still reading them. I read a chapter to my boyfriend, now as an adult, and even manahed to scare him too. They're good and haunting. Some of the stories I think about regularly. Oh where's my big toe???

The Nostalgia is heavy!

I loved these book series as a child, and now I’m able to share them with my children. Conveniently, all three books have been compiled into one in this lovely hardbound book — and with the original illustrations too! I’m beyond pleased with this purchase!

Missing pages

Just got mine today & it's missing the first 20 pages !!! But it's still good since it's all three books are together.

Amazing

love the book it comes with all 3 stories inside. and for the price, it's a great deal!!!! I couldn't find this book anywhere else online! And shipping was quick and fast!

Loved it as a child

I loved these stories when I was a kid and when my daughter kept checking them out of the library I had to get them for her, (so I could enjoy them again ;-)

Awesome

I remember this from when i was younger, the stories scared me so much. now that i am grown, i have all three books in one and i like to read the stores sometimes to remember the times when i was a child.

SCARY

I think that this book is for people who don't get scared easily. I FREAKED oout when I read this book, but that's just me. Some people would say they like it others would say it's GROSS and others would say it scares them too much because it is very scary esspecially to read at night WARNING: DO NOT READ AT NIGHT!!!!!!

Scary Stories Treasury: Omnibus review

I think Scary Stories Treasury: Omnibus was scary, yet funny in a way.I really liked the stories. I have all of Alvin Schwartz's books, and there all very good. I recommend them all to you. -John

Genuinely Spooky and Straight From a Line of Tradition

Folklorist Alvin Schwartz displays his knack for carrying on the tradition of storytelling and genuine folklore with these three volumes of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark," here in a special boxed set. Award-winning illustrator Stephen Gammell's wonderfully chilling pencil drawings go along perfectly with Schwartz's selection of spooky folklore, using a writing style that is delightfully shiver-inducing, sounding as if the story is being told straight from around the camp fire or in a kid's unlit bedroom. These three volumes are essential for keeping the folklore tradition alive.

Okay, maybe we can’t eliminate censorship (yet...#goals), but we can celebrate Banned Books Week with gusto by reading all of the stories that someone (or someones) tried to silence, destroy, or restrict access to. Here are 50 of the most frequently banned and/or most recently challenged books, along with the "who, why, and how" of literary censorship in America.
