Posing as one of Robin Hood's thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her female identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only Robin and his band know the truth. As Gisbourne closes in, helping the people of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life, but her fierce loyalty to Robin-whose quick smiles have the rare power to unsettle her-keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.
It held my interest enough to keep easing to find out the end, but I didn’t love it. The writing was sometimes confusing, and I found the interactions between the main characters to be overly dramatic and forced. I didn’t like how the romance was portrayed.. some toxicity (by modern standards) for sure. I really didn’t care about what happened to any of them. Probably won’t read the sequels.

I love this series. I like the historical aspect, but the twist on the story is amazing. It is well written and I have read the series multiple times. I do think the first book is the best, but once you start to read about Scarlet, you have to finish the series. I will read this series again soon!
