Pamela Britton pens another romantic and wickedly funny Regency tale with her remarkable and witty writing style. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This was the first Pamela Britton book I read and she hooked me right away. I love stories the feature a female lead character who isn't of the same social class as the hero. (Think Cinderella). In my opinion Pamela Britton pulled this story off beautifully! I found myself laughing while I read this book and then crying in some places. After I finished I went and ordered two of her other books which I also loved. A new favorite author of mine and one I really recommend.

The typical regency novel depicts the male character as a rake and the female as a young woman with no original thoughts but just waiting on the sidelines for her hero and marriage. Not so with Ms. Britton's works. Her women have strong character traits that can bring strength to a relationship. I can't imagine women of that period not using their brains. Throughout history there have been women who have ruled countries, saved lives, been instrumental in creating things that made life better... Women just didn't get intelligent within the last century. As to the hero, not all men are perfect. Rein has learning problems, which at that time would not be recognized as such. But he builds a strong character and with Anna help, becomes a better man and father. Ms. Britton's spunky characters and plot are both interesting and quite believable. I look forward to each and every book that she writes. Sharon Yool

Boy am I glad I preordered this book and selected overnight shipping because WOW was this book worth the price. I hate to gush but I'm just so amazed by this author. I was very impressed with her first book but to my joy she just gets better and better.Anna Brooks is a market maid with a tragic past. When she meets Rein Drummond she knows immediately that he's a gentleman. Unfortunately she's also responsible for injuring the man and so she's forced to take him in. But he speaks as if he's a duke (he is) and he makes it perfectly clear that he wants more than one night from Anna. He wants HER. Oh boy. That's the set up, and it sounds simple, but Ms. Britton is a master at taking the familiar and making it her own. Believe me, I was laughing and tearing up the whole way through this book and when I was done I was so upset!! I didn't want it to end.Don't hesitate to buy this book if you love Ms. Britton's work. And if you love to laugh and cry buy this book. Just buy the book because I really don't think you'll be disappointed. (...)

What happens when a handsome rake gets booted out of a carriage and dropped into one of London's meanest slums? Fun, fun, fun!!!Let me tell you, Pamela Britton just keeps getting better and better. Her books are such a remarkable combination of emotion and humor. SCANDAL is no different.Rein Drummond finds himself in the unique postion of having to earn his inheritance by surviving for a month in a slum. Enter Ann Brooks (a heroine who I think it one of the author's best). Brilliant and beautiful she's determined to escape St. Giles by winning a contest sponsored by the navy. When she meets up with the hero she thinks he's the last thing they need. But circumstances force them together and what follows is a beautifully written, wonderfully funny tale that had me thinking this author is hands down one of the best writers in the business today.Hurry up and click the 'buy' button. You won't be disappointed!!
